Neal R. Gittleman, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Neal Gittleman finds his greatest satisfaction in doing dentistry when he can help a patient regain personal confidence with a beautiful smile.  Using the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Gittleman has succeeded in helping so many patients change their lives with lasting effects.  His gentle nature and easy manner has help patients to relax and trust Dr. Gittleman from their very first visit.  He believes patients should be well informed about what to expect in the dental chair and be an active participant in their dental care.

Dr. Neal Gittleman is the founder and owner of Somerset Dental Arts.  His philosophy about doing dentistry is centered around putting patients first.  He believes that treating people and not teeth will help him achieve the best results for his patients.  Dr. Gittleman's dental team is well trained and has worked closely together for over 10 years, following Dr. Gittleman's leadership and mission in the practice..  There is great satisfaction that Dr. Gittleman feels everyday when patients praise his staff for the excellent care and attention they have received.

  Dr. Gittleman was awarded his DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 1983 and his fellowship in 2003 to the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Gittleman has advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Endodontics and Dental Rehabilitation.  He is also certified in Invisalign, invisible braces. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Gittleman enjoys many hobbies and activities while not in the office.  As a certified scuba diver, Dr. Gittleman has experienced unforgettable underwater adventures.  He can also be found hiking and mountain climbing in the North Pacific, bike riding along the canal in Somerset and taking photographs of nature at every opportunity.  In fact, Dr. Gittleman’s photographs can be seen decorating the walls of the dental office.  He enjoys collecting wine and to many of his patient’s surprise, he plays the trumpet in a local ethnic-music band.

Dr. Gittleman is a native of New Jersey and enjoys life in the Garden State with his wife and two children.

Dawn Marie DiGrazia, DMD

Dr. DiGraziais an associate dentist at Somerset Dental Arts. She joined the team in 1991, as a young high school student working in the position of part-time dental assistant She knew in her junior year of high school that she wanted a career in the dental field. Through college and dental school, Dr. DiGrazia continued to work as an assistant until she graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2002, with her D.M.D. She continued her dental education with a residency at JFK hospital in Edison.

Dr. DiGrazia made an easy transition from her role as dental assistant to associate dentist in the practice. Working so closely and for so many years with the other members of the team, Dr. DiGrazia continues to be a strong team player, helping out where ever she can to keep the office running smoothly.
Dr. D’s easy nature and her love for dentistry makes it easy for patients to follow through with their dental treatment. She takes great pride in being able to solve dental problems for her patients and helping them to regain confidence with a beautiful smile. The younger patients love Dr. D., especially those who stand taller than her!

Dr. DiGrazia is highly skilled, with advanced training in Cosmetics, Endodontics, and Dental Rehabilitation. She is also certified in Invisalign (invisible braces). She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Seattle Study Club.

When not working in the dental office, Dr. DiGrazia enjoys spending time with her family, watching her daughter grow. You can also find Dr. D. cheering on her favorite sports team with her husband, Louie – Go Steelers! .



Lucy Achenbach - Senior Dental Hygienist

Lucy Achenbach is the senior dental hygienist at Somerset Dental Arts, joining the team in June 1995. Lucy’s warm and beautiful smile along with her genuine nature creates a comfortable and safe environment for patients during their dental visits. She develops a partnership with her patients helping them to achieve good dental health along with a beautiful, confident smile for life.

Lucy graduated from Middlesex County College with honors in 1992. She went on to receive her B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.A. in Health Care Education from Seton Hall University in 2001. Believing that knowledge can empower people to gain better health, Lucy joined the faculty at her alma mater, MCC in 1999, to help educate the next generation of hygienists on how to promote healthy living through better dental care. She teaches courses in Advanced Periodontology and Clinical Patient Care and is a faculty member on the curriculum committee and the advisory committee for the dental hygiene program.

As a professional, Lucy utilizes the most current evidence-based treatments involving areas such as non-surgical periodontal therapy, oral cancer screenings and preventive care. It becomes obvious during one visit with Lucy that her well-rounded background in both the clinical and academic setting gives her a strong basis to educate her patients. She talks to patients about the relationship between their oral heath and their overall medical health, emphasizing the importance of good oral hygiene. No patient is too young or too old to receive the gentle and caring instruction from Lucy on better home care. Patients respect and adore Lucy for her honesty and integrity and the time she takes to focus on their needs.

Lucy keeps very busy when not in the dental office. She recently co-founded the Central New Jersey Dental Hygiene Study Club. This organization works to further the continuing education of hygienists through guest lectures and speakers. But it is not all about dentistry for Lucy. Her patients enjoy hearing about her many travels abroad and the time she spends at the beach with her family, or playing golf with her dad.



Jane Hahn - Senior Dental Assistant

Jane Hahn has been a long-standing member of our dental team, joining Dr. Gitttleman’s practice in the fall of 1990. Jane is well known and well liked by all of our patients for her caring nature and gentle touch. Jane’s focus is always on the patient first. She provides a calming presence in the operatory allowing patients to relax during their dental treatment. It is Jane’s understanding of the patient’s concerns and giving them the reassurance they need that plays an important role in helping their dental visits go smoothly.

“I enjoy getting to know our patients, listening to them talk about their families and lives”, Jane comments. “I also feel very proud of the expert dentistry we provide for our patients, and the many new smiles that we’ve created.”

As senior dental assistant, Jane is sometimes called upon to train new staff members in the area of assisting and sterilization. She sees it as her responsibility to keep the high standards of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) that is so important in the dental office. Staying busy every minute of the day, Jane is invaluable to helping maintain the organization and appearance of our office.

Jane enjoys traveling and spending time in New York City with her husband, Rex. She takes great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, and looks forward to spending the holidays with them, together every year. Jane and her husband, Rex are long time resident of Bridgewater, NJ.




Nicole Campbell - Treatment Coordinator/Assistant Office Manager

Nicole Campbell, treatment coordinator and assistant office manager has been a member of our team since August, 1998.

In her role as treatment coordinator, Nicole leaves no stone unturned. She focuses her energy toward giving our patients the most comprehensive information necessary about their dental treatment, along with payment options; scheduling needs and sometimes directions to their next destination (she’s wonderful with directions). Nicole sees it as her duty to make sure that our patients are well informed about all aspects of their treatment and helps them to achieve excellent dental health. She makes it a point to call patients who have medical issues to see how they are doing as well as calling patients who need to focus on their dental health first. She takes pride in working with patients who have difficulty with the English language, making them feel respected and well taken care of. Nicole loves helping others and feels most rewarded by the help she has given to so many patients over the years.

Nicole also serves as assistant office manager which is a role that comes naturally to her. She makes sure that our team is working together at all times to provide the best dental experience for our patients. Nicole treats everyone on the team like her extended family, something she feels in her heart.

Nicole grew up and still lives in Bridgewater, New Jersey close to her family. She is the proud mother of two young girls and takes pride in watching them grow. Her girls are the center of Nicole’s life and when not in the dental office, you can find Nicole and her girls enjoying life, together.




Melanie Fortunato - Receptionist/Financial Coordinator

Melanie Fortunato, our receptionist and financial coordinator joined our dental team in October 1998. It is Melanie who makes our office feel like home with her beautiful smile and gracious greeting when patients walk through our door. Melanie calmly and kindly helps new patients to become familiar with our office procedures and makes their experience easy and relaxed right from the start. She loves this part of her job, connecting with the patients and sharing stories of their lives.

As the financial coordinator, Melanie uses her 10 years of experience dealing with the ever-changing dental insurance companies to help patients receive the correct benefits they deserve. Following up on dental insurance claims and providing valuable information about the insurance benefits is a service Melanie provides for our patients. We are so grateful for the expertise Melanie has acquired in this area, which is so valuable to our patients who find insurance issues so stressful.

Melanie is an avid exerciser, enjoys watching her son play hockey and gives back to the community with her involvement in the Sharing Network, an organization for organ donation. Melanie graduated Ohio State University where she met her husband, Dan. Together they moved to South Brunswick, New Jersey over 20 years ago where they enjoy life with their two children.
